Art Deco

Art deco is a France based architectural art flow. It is mostly based on hand craft and industrial developements. It generally has geometrical signs and reflects the architecture all by itself. It uses gothical signs too and this reflects how complex art can be when it carries gothic and geometrical sign all together. This idea lasted with the tought that appearance is more important then the function. So as the idea revolved function started to get more efficient and appearance started to fade away. The architecture in Empire State building and Streamline are the most common examples which reflects art deco.

Postmodernity

Post modernism flow started during the last quater of 20th century. There has been made several discussions about the content of post modernity. Some people beleive that it is the result of developed high technology but also some of the New Yorker artists belived that it was more about enviromentalist thinking. As a whole we can summarize Post modernity as pluralism and disintegration. In a way this current caused an ambiguity among artists.It is more like a formation of two differerent opinions which are unrelated even opposite to each other. 

Modernism

After the Industrial Revolution in nineteeth century with the developements in industry science and technical areas generally the taste started to earn a different form. It became lighter and bare. Function started to play abig role in arts more than the appearence itself. Artists were no longer referanced from the past they produced genuine art with strict lines. The term less is more can be identified to describe modernism clearly. In arts with little changes Modernism became more and more effective and the most important part is that the art itself turned into a function. On the other hanf Modernism is an aspect that stresses what we know till today and it conforts a new backround to form an analysis to forget what we are made of. In a new sense it creates a brand new culture for human beings in every area that we are related to.

Futurism

Futurism is an art movement which  focuses on movement and dynamics rather than the object itself. It has a different subject that because Futurism encourges fight facism supports this art movement suprisingly. It is systemized by  artist Marinetti at the begining of 20th century. Today people briefly describes futurism as the art for adrenaline. Futurist artists do not use any emotion, movement or object. They reject to put a rigid line to their works so they rigid their art as naming it Futurism by using what is real as their function. They act like they dont know what is going on till that day and make art just with their imagintions but they are careful about being over designed.

The Victorian Era

The peak with Industrial Revolution in England people started to get wealth power and money in a little amount of time. Especially in literature there were very precious new wirters were cherising. Among these precious wirters Charles Dickens was the most remarable one. Also poetry was a big distraction during that time too. Thomas Hardy for instance was a poet whose works are still being read and loved today. He is also victorian era s important poets. We can also mention about teather and how it is develeoped in that time too. But the most important thing in visual world and typology that directly effects literature was the most important developement which comes today.

 

Michelangelo Caravaggio

Caravaggio is a famous Italian Renaissance painter who lived in 16th and 17th centuries. Among all the Renassaince artists personally I beleive that Caravaggio was the most effective one. The reason for that is he uses light so strong that his paintings gives the viewer a creapy feeling. His dramatic style arising with the plays he forms with light and shadow makes Caravaggio the leading painter in Renaissance and aspecially in Baroque art.

Other than his techniques another important aspect in Caravaggio`s art is how realistic he is. We can not count him as a realist when we compare him to the real realists but he paints moments of spontanity that we can call him one. He gives natural moments to the viewer and tries to effect the viewer with frightened subjects. Such as: death, blood, violance are some themes he uses in his paintings. He takes renaissance out of the perfectionist form and creates his own style by encouraging the idea of reality.

Incunabula

Incunabula is the first stage creating books.  At the late of fourteen century Albrecht Durer developed and used this print technique. At those times writings and images were carved at a wooden table and then colored one by one. When Albrecht Durer invented the Incunabula technique he made this system so easy that printing system were invented. More than one copies were created with the Incunabula tecnique and this lead people produce more. They gained huge amount of time and they were able to produce more and more everyday. Without realizing as we look back today this was a huge step for visual arts and for the design world.

Gothic Manuscripts

Generally gothic manuscripts can be identified as gothic art. The reason for this is that in gothic art instead of making people and location look realistic they ignore these elements and focus on proportions and how colors line accordigin to their religious prosperities. In manuscipts we see those gothic art characteristics recently. They also reflect Romanesque style like their architecture. Like they develop Romanesque architecture by enlarging the space they change their manuscripts by their own style and they are called Gothic Manuscripts.

Phoenician Alphabet

Phoenician Alphabet is consist of 20 consonants and 2 vowels. There are similar sounds which looks alike in this alphabet. Basically it is the basis of Arabic alphabet and sounds.

The alphabet firs started in reliogious purposes. People wanted to write about their religion so that started to come up with letterforms. After they formed the letters they phonetically started to make those letterforms have a sound. This step by step formation led them to shape Phoenician Alphabet. This ways word started to be saved as writing so they made their civilization everlasting.

The most efficient effect of Phoenician Alphabet was all the information of the civilization were transfered to next generation. So every generetion was effected by their fathers life style beleifs achivements. This helped them to understand eachother accuratly and become more and more cleverer in every era.

Feng Shui

In China Feng Shui is a term that can be called as ideology since ages. Nowadays it spread through the whole world and people started to adopt their lives according to this way of thinking. Feng Shui is a psychological treatment done by using the energies around us in its best way so that we can creat satisfaction.

Like I mentioned nowadays it spread through the whole worls as an ideology but basically it is an incredible art. It can be described under rational remarks and a combination of arts and science.

Modern life style changes our life to a caos and excess. Feng Shui uses the adoptation rules and helps people to balance their souls by creating them a peacful envoriment. So that as the placements around them change psychologically they enlighten. This enlightment leads to inner peace without the person realizing.

This uncouncious change effects person s life incredibly and one starts to be productive happy and more peaceful.
